Workspace & branding
Team members, shared vault, org branding, moving credits & domains.
Every TC Pro subscription comes with a workspace. The workspace is the shared container for your team — members, IDs, domains, generated codes, monitoring data, branding. It's how agencies manage many clients without juggling personal accounts.
What's shared inside a workspace
- Domains. Any team member can scan + add a domain into the workspace; everyone sees it on the dashboard with an "Added by {name}" attribution.
- ID Vault. Stored IDs are workspace-scoped — the GA4 Measurement ID a colleague added is auto-prefilled for you next time you generate against that domain.
- Generated codes. Every download history is visible to every member, with a per-code "Generated by" attribution.
- Monitoring data. Counts, goals, alerts, branded reports — all org-scoped.
- Workspace branding. One brand name / colour / logo per workspace, set by an admin.
Roles
Two roles at MVP: Admin and Member. Admins can invite + remove members, change billing, edit branding, and grant/revoke privileged actions. Members can do everything else — scan, generate, view monitoring, manage their own goals, fetch reports.
Inviting members
From /dashboard/team (admin only): paste an email address, choose role, send. Clerk sends the invitation; the recipient signs up (or signs in if they already have a TC account) and is auto-added to the workspace.
Credit pool
Workspaces use a pooled credit balance — every generation by any member spends from the workspace pool, not personal balances. Buy credit packs at the workspace level; the 15% Pro discount applies to the workspace, not the individual buyer.
Members' personal balances (from before they joined the workspace) are untouched — they sit outside the org pool and only spend when the member generates as a solo user.
Optional per-member limits. By default the pool is shared and anyone spends freely. To cap how much each teammate can spend, switch Credit policy to Per-user limit on /dashboard/team: set an org-wide default, then give each member their own monthly allowance. Admins are never capped, and the cap only limits the shared pool — a member can still spend their own personal credits. Limits reset each calendar month.
Moving credits between pools
Bought a credit pack on your Personal account but want to spend it inside a workspace — or shift credits from one workspace to another? The Move credits panel on the Workspace tab (under Members) transfers purchased credits between any two pools you have access to: Personal ⇄ workspace, or workspace ⇄ workspace.
- Only purchased credits move. The free credits every account starts with are personal-only and never transfer.
- Pulling credits OUT of a workspace requires you to be an admin of it. Pulling from your own Personal pool is always allowed.
- The destination workspace must have an active TC Pro subscription — otherwise the moved credits would be unspendable there.
- Each move writes a matched pair of ledger entries — out of one pool, into the other — so balances always reconcile.
Moving a domain between workspaces
A domain — and every tracking code attached to it — can be reassigned to a different workspace, or back to your Personal context, from its row on the dashboard (the Move control). "Remove from this workspace" is simply a move back to Personal.
- You can move a domain you created, or any domain in a workspace you administer.
- The destination must be a workspace you belong to (or Personal). The codes follow the domain automatically — no regeneration needed.
- If the domain is being monitored and the destination has no active Pro subscription, monitoring is switched off as part of the move (it can't run without Pro), and you'll get a heads-up when that happens.
Activating your workspace after subscribing
Subscribing to TC Pro auto-creates a Clerk Organization for you. The dashboard auto-activates the org on mount, so you usually don't need to do anything. If you somehow land in the dashboard without your org active (rare — happens when the Clerk session token hasn't refreshed), an explicit "Activate workspace" banner appears so you can pop into it with one click.
Common questions
Can I belong to multiple workspaces? One per Clerk user at MVP — by Clerk membership limit. Multi-org is on the roadmap; the use case (a freelancer working for two agencies) is real, just not built yet.
What happens to the workspace if I cancel Pro? The workspace stays — domains, codes, IDs are preserved. Pro features (monitoring, goals, alerts, reports, free regen) lock until you resubscribe. Members can still log in and use the free generator.
Can I delete a workspace? Contact us. It's an irreversible action so we don't expose it in the UI to prevent accidents. We'll verify and execute.
