Just credits vs TC Pro

Pay-per-credit vs the Pro subscription — what each gives you, and which to choose.

TrackingCoder has two ways to pay, and they answer two different questions. Just credits (pay-per-credit) answers "get me working tracking code." TC Pro answers "...and tell me the moment it stops working." This page explains exactly what each one gives you and how to choose.

💡 The one-line version

Credits get the tracking code generated and installed. TC Pro keeps that tracking monitored, attributed, and reported on after you ship it — and includes a monthly batch of credits on top. Pro is not the opposite of credits; it's credits plus an ongoing health layer.

What "just credits" gives you

Credits are the pay-as-you-go core of TrackingCoder. One credit generates the tracking code for one scenario (one event on one destination set) — see Credits & pricing for the full mechanics. With credits alone you get:

  • The complete code generator — all channels (GA4, Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads) and 450+ event combinations.
  • Consent Mode v2 + cookie-banner support, and a step-by-step install guide for every event.
  • Output as a GTM container, GTM Custom HTML, or a direct script.
  • Credits that never expire, bought in packs — you pay only when you generate, with no subscription.
  • 2 free credits on signup, no card required.

What credits don't include: any ongoing monitoring, alerting, attribution, reporting, or team features. Once the code is installed, you're on your own to notice if it ever breaks.

Best for: a one-time setup, a single site, occasional changes, or solo users who just need correct code and will check their own dashboards.

What TC Pro adds on top

TC Pro is a subscription that sits on top of everything above. It adds the layer that turns "I generated tracking" into "I know my tracking is working."

  • 5 credits every month, included — plus 15% off every credit pack you buy while subscribed.
  • Real-time monitoring — a live count of every event firing across all your sites (Pro monitoring).
  • Anomaly alerts — drift, spike, no-activity, and weekly active-probe failures, before a client notices (Anomaly alerts).
  • Per-event parameter capture and Events by traffic source — see which channel drives each conversion (Traffic source tracking).
  • Goals + a 0–100 performance score per domain (Event goals & performance score).
  • White-label client reports — your logo + colours (Branded client reports).
  • Team workspace — shared ID vault, activity feed, and per-member credit budgets (Workspace & branding).
  • Free regeneration of pre-existing simple-event tracking into monitoring, at no credit cost (Free regeneration backfill).

A standard Pro plan includes monitoring for 20 domains, 250 tracked scenarios across all of them, 100k monitored event-firings/month, and 3 team members. Comfortably more than most single businesses need; if you're an agency that expects to outgrow it, get in touch and we'll sort out higher limits.

Best for: anyone running ads who needs tracking to stay correct, agencies managing multiple client sites, and teams that need a shared vault, reports, and alerts.

Which should I choose?

Quick gut-check:

  • Stick with credits if tracking is a one-off job — you set it up, install it, and rarely touch it again, on a single site you check yourself.
  • Go Pro if broken tracking would cost you money — you're spending on ads, managing client sites, or need to prove what's working with attribution and reports. The first time Pro catches a silently-broken Purchase tag, it's paid for itself.

They're not mutually exclusive

Because Pro includes 5 credits a month and a discount on packs, going Pro doesn't mean giving up the credit model — you keep generating tracking exactly as before, just cheaper, with the monitoring layer added.
